Char Siu (Chinese BBQ Pork)
Ingredients:
- 500g pork rashes or pork belly (sliced)
- 2 tablespoon crushed garlic
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing cooking wine
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 100g sugar
- 2 large cubes or 3 tablespoon of preserved tofu (optional)
Method:
- Place pork rashes in a bowl. Mix all ingredients well.
- Marinate for 6 to 8 hours in fridge.
- Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Roast for 20 minutes, turn half way at 10 minutes.
- Cook until slightly crispy.
- Rest for 15 minutes. Slice pork and serve with rice.
