Char Siu (Chinese BBQ Pork)

Ingredients:
  • 500g pork rashes or pork belly (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoon crushed garlic
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing cooking wine
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 100g sugar
  • 2 large cubes or 3 tablespoon of preserved tofu (optional)
Method:
  1. Place pork rashes in a bowl. Mix all ingredients well.
  2. Marinate for 6 to 8 hours in fridge.
  3. Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Roast for 20 minutes, turn half way at 10 minutes.
  4. Cook until slightly crispy.
  5. Rest for 15 minutes. Slice pork and serve with rice.
